Welcome to the final quarter of the 2025 school year. I trust all students and staff had a great opportunity for some rest and rejuvenation and we are set for a positive term. The Term 3 break is always beautiful with Brisbane turning on great weather and the Lions and Broncos bringing the city alive in recent days. I hope all families are in good spirits as we regather for the term ahead and the Holy Christmas season that awaits.
With 8 weeks of classes, it is vital that the College settles quickly into routines in teaching and learning and I thank you for your support as we get the term underway.
Our Seniors of 2025 commence their final term of schooling, and it is always a time of mixed emotions for students and parents as this phase is a significant time of challenge, change, opportunity and transition. Our staff look forward to supporting our Year 12 group and enjoying this time stronger together.
The group has two and a half weeks of revision classes before commencing their 4-week block of external exams. I thank all parents and our staff in anticipation of the excellent encouragement and support the students will enjoy and we look forward to our final rituals and valedictory with the Seniors of 2025 in Week 7.
Student Leadership Team 2026
At this morning’s assembly, we formally acknowledged the Student Leadership Team for 2026. I extend my warm congratulations to a strong group of young people to lead the College at the beginning of our second decade.

Edmund Rice Global Youth Leadership Program
There was a buzz of energy as we hosted our guests from fellow Edmund Rice schools from South Africa, India and Uruguay in the final week of term and into the holidays.
The program was a significant success, and we look forward to building on these relationships for years to come with plans in place to have reciprocal opportunities for our students and staff.
Global perspectives and shared experiences are vital in our turbulent world and I thank and congratulate Ms Kate Garrone, Dean of Faith and Mission for her vision, leadership and energy for this initiative along with her team and all staff involved in the planning and facilitation of the experience along with our own student leaders, participants and all members of our extended community who welcomed and hosted our guests with pride in our community.
Seniors of 2020
Our second group of Seniors are returning to the College this Saturday afternoon for their 5-year reunion. Five years out from school sees many of them finishing university and commencing careers and some well into their working lives. A great representation of the ATC2020 group and current and former staff are gathering to welcome them back to their school. I thank the Past Students Committee chaired by ATC2019, Patrick Robinson, for their support of this event.
Arts Festival
Term 4 always brings the ATC Arts Festival to our lives and is an annual highlight with our talented students and staff of art, drama and music combining to share their gifts with us. Please join us for the ATC Actor’s Studio production of The Outsiders which will be fantastic or the opening of Artery which showcases the terrific work of our students. There are two performances, on Tuesday 21 October and Wednesday 22 October in NJ Hall. Doors open at 6:00pm, and tickets are free. Please register your attendance to assist with our planning.
Tickets are on sale for the great ATC tradition of Jazz by the River and this year, to celebrate our 10th year, we’d love for as many people as possible to come along to have a great time, enjoy a picnic and some terrific Jazz by our talented students. We’d love to see you there! Please come along and celebrate 10 years of ATC by the river with some Jazz! CLICK HERE to book your tickets.
