National Reconciliation Week concludes next Tuesday. At last Tuesday’s assembly we began by structuring our acknowledgment of country and prayer rituals around the theme. Thank you to Year 9 students and proud First Nations young men Keean and Quantae for leading the college. Highlighting events such as Reconciliation Week helps students consider how the EREA Touchstone of Justice and Solidarity calls the ATC community to reflect and act with dignity, especially for those who have been marginalised.
I wish all Year 12 students the very best as they depart for their Claddagh Retreat from Wednesday to Friday next week. This retreat is a special and sacred time for reflection, offering students the opportunity to pause and share their journey through ATC. It is a moment to consider what it truly means to be a man of Signum Fidei—next year and beyond. Claddagh is a Kairos moment: a deep pause from the usual busyness of life, inviting stillness, contemplation, and growth. After a delayed start due to Cyclone Alfred, this important senior year event promises to be a transformative experience. I sincerely thank the Faith and Mission team, the dedicated staff attending, those holding the fort back at school, and the parents and caregivers whose support makes Claddagh possible.
I’d like to extend my best wishes to all ATC runners as they prepare to compete in the AIC Cross Country Championships this Wednesday at Curlew Park, Sandgate. Following their impressive performance at the recent GBC Championships, I’m confident the team is well-positioned to rise to the challenge and improve their standing in the highly competitive AIC field. Competitors, parents, and caregivers can find full event details on the College App or by contacting the Sports Office. Go well, team!

ATC People and Places | Laurie Gordon Reflects
"Being part of the Ambrose Treacy College staff for its first decade has been exciting. Despite challenges such as the floods of 2022, the College has emerged stronger than ever. It has been a privilege to witness many milestones, from the graduation of the first Seniors to the establishment of traditions like the 2:57 prayer and the 'Gate to Gate' race. Watching the full College evolve - from a model in the office to a thriving campus - has been a true highlight. Amidst rapid change, some things have remained constant; the fierce intensity of handball, the boundless energy of the students, their enthusiasm for learning, and the continuing fun of the Christmas Fayre. I look forward to seeing what the next 10 years will bring."
LEARNING
Exam Schedules
Parents and caregivers are advised that Term Two exam schedules are now available on the ATC App and also via Parent Lounge or Student Cafe. NOTE: Year 11 and 12 students only have to attend school when they have a scheduled exam during that time.
Hospitality - Biggest Morning Tea
With all proceeds donated to the Cancer Council our students did a stellar job preparing copious amounts of sausage rolls, rocky road, pizza and much more. Congratulations to the Hospitality students and staff for the successful event and well done to the ATC community for again supporting this event.
SERVICE
Beanies for Brain Cancer
The cold weather arrived just in time for Beanies for Brain Cancer Day at ATC, a day that promotes valuable funds and awareness of brain cancer. Today we show our true colours by supporting our favourite Maroon or Blue team by wearing a Beanie, jersey or jumper in their colours. In addition to bringing colour and excitement for the first State of Origin, we unite as a community to stand in solidarity with those impacted by this disease, and raise awareness and support for this important research organisation.
