Arts Festival - That's a Wrap
Singing in the rain! The predicted precipitation couldn’t dampen the mood at our 2025 edition of Jazz by the River! SFX was turned into a Jazz Club and the audience was treated to a spectacular program of music from ATC’s current and past students. Our Westcourt stage by the river featured Chamber ensembles, our Gents Choir and the Hot Brass Squad. We marked the past ten years of the event through a fantastic photo gallery wall and a archive images scrolling on screen. There was even more entertainment from a roving magician and a fanciful photo booth. The finale of the event was a spectacular set of performances from our very talented singer soloists. Congratulations to Johnathan, Alex, Manahali, and Baxter on their outstanding contribution. A sincere thanks to our wonderful ATC staff and volunteers for supporting this iconic event in its 10th edition.

The 2025 ARTery exhibition was an absolute triumph, bursting with creativity and representing three terms worth of dedicated efforts in the Visual Art and Media Arts Departments. We were thrilled to celebrate the exceptional talent of all our student artists from Years 4-12 with artwork that shone brightly. Congratulations to our award-winning artists, whose imagination and skill inspired many visitors. We are very proud of our students’ innovative thinking, growth, and passion for the arts that was on display, making ARTery an unforgettable showcase of brilliance and community spirit.

Actors Studio – ‘The Outsiders’
The Actor’s Studio production of The Outsiders was a resounding success, with packed audiences across both nights. Congratulations to the cast and crew for a compelling and moving performance. Words can’t fully capture how impressed I’ve been with the entire Arts Festival over the past two weeks. The creativity, passion, and talent on display have been nothing short of inspiring. A heartfelt thank you to our students, their supportive families, and the dedicated ATC staff who give so generously of their time to create such a vibrant and enriching experience.
New Parent Orientation
As one journey ends, many more begin. Last night, we had the pleasure of welcoming the families of our incoming Year 4 to 7 students for 2026. It was wonderful to see new families connecting, sharing stories, and beginning their ATC journey together. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Families left feeling reassured and excited about the path ahead for their sons. We’re thrilled to have you join our community.
Farewell Year 12
This week marked a significant milestone as our Year 12 students concluded their classes ahead of next week’s external exams. The highlight of their final week was Tuesday’s assembly, where students shared heartfelt reflections on the teachers who shaped their ATC journey.
Each student who spoke and presented a candle to a teacher did so with deep sincerity, expressing one powerful theme: gratitude. Gratitude for the teachers who taught them respect, showed them kindness, believed in them, inspired them, gave them time, ignited their passions, and supported them through challenges.
Rather than focusing on their achievements—which are many and will continue to grow—they chose to speak about their journey and the people who helped them become ATC men, Signum Fidei – a sign of faith. They named this assembly ‘Face of Jesus’, a fitting tribute to the transformative relationships that define our community.
At the heart of our work, and at the heart of what our students recognise as truly life-changing, are the Gospel values expressed through the EREA Touchstones and ATC Pillars. These guideposts shape our graduates into young men who are humble, grateful, and committed to service.
Go well, Year 12. Good luck in your exams, and we look forward to celebrating with you at the Valedictory.
Faces of Jesus
At assembly, Year 12 students gathered for the Faces of Jesus liturgy, a deeply meaningful celebration that invited reflection on those who reveal Christ’s presence in our lives. During the liturgy, students acknowledged the teachers and staff who have guided, supported, and inspired them throughout their schooling journey. It was a moment of gratitude, faith, and community, honouring the people who have been true faces of Jesus in our Senior students’ College story.
Funky Sock Day
Inspirational messages, funky socks and a shared lunch marked the final gathering for our Year 12s and Year 4s. Heartfelt notes were written to encourage their big brothers in their exams, and some very funky socks were gifted to each senior boy to mark them stepping out into the world. Thank you to our Seniors who invested their time at Feel Good Fridays, to connect with our youngest students, build connections and foster ATC spirit. We are grateful for your contributions. You truly have been Stronger Together. Thank you to Lisa Weller, Year 4 Parent Liaison for coordinating the collection of socks.

SERVICE NEWS
Introducing The Tea Tent – Donations Needed!
We’re excited to launch a new wellbeing initiative this term: The Tea Tent – a space for Middle School students to connect, relax, and enjoy a cuppa (or cordial) in a calm, welcoming environment. To make this space truly special, we need your help! We’re seeking donations of mugs and tea cups and saucers. If you have spares at home or know someone who does, please drop them off at one of the school receptions. Your contributions will help create a warm, nostalgic atmosphere for our students. The Tea Tent will run Wednesday and Friday lunchtimes in the Year 8 area, supported by Year 11 students who have volunteered to be part of a Student Wellbeing Team. We aim to start by next Friday, using the rest of term as a trial before a full launch in 2026. Thank you for helping us bring this initiative to life!

LEARNING NEWS
No Hat No Fun
A mid term reminder from the HPE Department that as the temperatures soar and summer heat intensifies, it is essential that boys have their school hat with them every day and they MUST wear them to every HPE lesson, at lunchbreaks and any time they are out of the classroom. It is sunsmart and sensible to be protected from harmful UV rays. If your son has lost his hat, please encourage him to check Lost Property in Student Reception.
Japan Tour Information Night
Year 5 Students, Parents and caregivers are warmly invited to attend an Information Evening for the 2026 Japan Tour on Monday 27 October at 6:00 pm in the Waterford Auditorium. The 2026 Japan Tour will take place from Saturday 20 June to Monday 30 June 2026, with priority given to current Year 5 students (next year’s Year 6 cohort). This hosting experience is an important part of the exchange, as our boys will then stay with Japanese homestay families in pairs during their visit. If you have any questions prior to the evening, please feel free to contact Tasha Damon at damont@atc.qld.edu.au
