The Show Must Go On
Due to predicted thunderstorms on Saturday afternoon, the College has activated our wet weather plan for Jazz by the River. Performances will now take place at SFXC, with catering and bar facilities still available. We look forward to enjoying the music and celebrating our talented performers. An email with full details has been sent to all ticket holders.
Arts Festival in Full Swing
This week’s Arts Festival has been a vibrant celebration of creativity and talent. We launched the week with a dynamic assembly featuring drama, music, and a media art presentation. A personal highlight was Alex Craddock’s beautiful rendition of Fly Me to the Moon.
On Tuesday evening, our accomplished singers delivered a stunning choral concert. Throughout the week, students engaged in hands-on workshops exploring mediums such as sculpture and printmaking.
Wednesday’s opening of our art exhibition, ‘Artery’, was another standout moment. The exhibition showcases student work from every cohort and includes the presentation of art prizes. I highly encourage you to visit before it closes at 3:30pm Friday.
Actors Studio – ‘The Outsiders’
Next week, the excitement continues with performances of ‘The Outsiders’ on Tuesday and Wednesday nights in NJ Hall. Tickets are still available—please check the app for booking links. This production is a highlight of the Festival. Last year’s show was a standout, and I’m eagerly anticipating this year’s performance. If you love art, music, or drama – or all three – come along and bring a friend to celebrate what’s great about the Arts at ATC.
A sincere thank you to our dedicated teams in art, media art, design, drama, and music for their time and effort in creating this outstanding showcase of student talent.
Pink Day - Our Annual Fundraiser
Students were pink and proud in free dress today to raise awareness and research funds as part of Breast Cancer awareness month. Professor Stacey Edwards (Link) addressed the assembly so students could learn about the disease, and its affect on our community. Breast Cancer Donation | National Breast Cancer Foundation
Year 12 – A Moment to Celebrate
Finishing classes as a graduating Year 12 student at Ambrose Treacy College is a truly momentous occasion. It marks the culmination of years of hard work, growth, and achievement. This milestone is not only about completing academic requirements—it’s a celebration of friendships formed, challenges overcome, and knowledge gained.
Between their final class on Wednesday and the Valedictory Ceremony on 14 November, students will complete their external exams.
I wish all students every success in their preparations. I’m also mindful that some will be continuing apprenticeships, traineeships, or entering the workforce. I trust they find the transition both liberating and rewarding.
Year 12 Celebration Week
To help our Year 12 students finish well—and to allow other cohorts to celebrate with them—we’ve planned a week of fun and reflection for them to partake in:

Breast Cancer Staff Fundraiser
Alana Rose, Dani Schossow and Charlie Russell have formed a Team called ATC Aqua Allies to collectively swim 45km (15km each) in November. This is 5 laps for each of the 9 people who die from Breast Cancer in Australia every single day. They hope to raise and extra $3000 in addition to the money that will be raised on the ATC Pink Day. They would love the school community to support them in this challenge. Follow the link to the donation page: National Breast Cancer Foundation - ATC Aqua Allies.

FAITH AND MISSION
ATC Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Research
Each year ATC show its support for the important work of the National Breast Cancer Foundation by wearing vibrant shades of pink in support of this cause. In preparation for today's Pink Day, we welcomed Professor Stacey Edwards to speak to our students at assembly this week. Professor Edwards is a world-renowned cancer researcher whose life’s work was inspired by her own mother’s journey with breast cancer. From a groundbreaking discovery in London that changed global treatment approaches, to leading the Functional Cancer Genomics lab at QIMR Berghofer, Professor Edwards has dedicated her career to finding smarter, more effective treatments for breast and ovarian cancer. Her extraordinary achievements include over $15 million in research funding and 80+ high-impact publications. Raising awareness and funds for further research makes a difference! 1 in 7 women are affected by breast cancer – they are women we know and love. This day is about awareness, solidarity, and support. Together, we can make a difference.
Today our ATC Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Day was an opportunity for students to ‘Become A Zero Hero’ – helping Stop Deaths from Breast Cancer. Wearing pink and bringing a gold coin donation, we encourage breast cancer awareness to highlight that a significant number of Australians are diagnosed every day with this disease. Thank you for your support for this important initiative, increasing awareness of the impact Breast Cancer has on our community.

Once the claim limit has been exceeded, an additional repair cost will be incurred. Please refer to the ATC Acceptable Technology Use Policy on Parent Lounge and Student Café under Links for further details. St Vinnies Spring Clean to Aid our Year 10 St Vincent de Formal
Our Year 10 will be having their St Vincent de Formal on Thursday 30 October and part of the fun and challenge of this evening is recycling pre-loved clothes for the event. Historically, Vinnies create a pop-up shop here at ATC so the boys can find a suitable outfit but this year they are unable to do this due to low stock of boys and men's clothing. We are therefore, calling on families to please donate clothing that no longer fits or is used that would be suitable for a fun social evening our Year 10s will host with the students from Brigidine College. Student tickets, which include a donation to Vinnies, will include the opportunity to find an outfit at a Suitcase Rummage we will be running on campus at the beginning of Week 3. All excess clothing will be donated directly to Vinnies following this. Please send donations to the Faith & Mission office by Monday 20 October.
