In an unforgettable blend of ecology, teamwork, and coastal exploration, Year 11 Biologists delved into three unique ecosystems in an overnight field study trip. Venturing to the Marine Discovery Centre and Rocky Shore at Hastings Point students engaged in hands-on ecological investigations in the ecosystems of the Rocky Shore, Mangrove Wetlands, and Sand Dune Forests collecting real-world data for their upcoming Year 12 Student Experiment Assessment.
From measuring abiotic factors and identifying keystone species to kayaking through mangroves, our learners deepened their understanding of biodiversity and the interconnectedness of life.
We thank the staff at the Marine Discovery Centre for their expertise and guidance, working in partnership with the ATC Science Department in organising another valuable learning experience.
