The cold weather arrived just in time for our annual Beanies for Brain Cancer Day. Each year, in conjunction with the first State of Origin game, we call the whole school to action - show your true colours and wear a beanie to stand in solidarity for those suffering from brain cancer. The goal of the day is to raising valuable funds and awareness for brain cancer, one of the deadliest diseases in Australia.
This is all for a good cause, but it also is a fun day (and a bit competitive), as staff and students sport their favourite Maroons or Blues gear.
In addition to bringing colour and excitement for the first State of Origin, we united as a community to stand with those impacted by this disease, and raise awareness and support for important research to find a cure.
