Dean of Learning, Ms Liana Baillie, Assistant Dean of Learning: Senior School, Ms Angela Simpson and Head of Senior Mathematics, Ms Nicole Kirsch greatly enjoyed the EREA Colleges Study Tour which featured school visitations in the Canberra/Goulburn Diocese where there has been a very successful implementation of what is called the Catalyst framework of teaching and learning over the past five years.
Our own Learning Leadership Team is working hard on a renewed learning framework for launch in 2026 and this project in the ACT which has been informed and inspired by research into the science of teaching and learning and direct instruction, has been a very informative and helpful model for our reference in working together in this high priority area. We look forward to this ongoing project and the benefits for our students from Years 4 to 12 and our teaching staff.
Father's Day
I hope the dads and significant carers in our community enjoyed meaningful family time on Sunday. Parenthood is a vital part of the Edmund Rice tradition. Blessed Edmund’s vocation as a Catholic educator was greatly informed by his own fatherhood to Mary, his daughter who he raised as a single parent with the support of his extended family. We are greatly blessed by the parental support of our students at ATC and our partnerships between home and school.
"A father's love is a guiding light that shines through every step of life."
New Students for 2026
It was a delight to welcome our Year 4, Year 7 and all new students for 2026 to the College on Friday for a day of fun, some work and lots of new friend making! This day we Year 3 boys exploring their new school along with Year 6 boys getting ready for secondary school is always exciting and energizing.
Thank you to our excellent Year 11 and 12 student leaders for a job well done in supporting our newest Irish Warriors.
2026 Enrolments
The end of Term 3 marks the final opportunity to contact Robyn Donaldson, our Head of Enrolments, regarding your intentions for your son’s enrolment in 2026. As per the College enrolment contract, a full term’s notice is required please if your son is leaving the College. Thank you to parents who have been in contact. Our Year 7 enrolment for 2026 is very full with a waiting list. A reminder to current families to enrol your younger siblings if you haven’t done so already for future years. We have some places in Year 4, 5 and 6 available for 2026.
ATC Parents and Friends 2nd Hand Clothes Shop
Thank you to Mel Kuflik and Sasha Tucker and their team of supporters of the ATC Parents and Friends for another great 2nd hand uniform shop on Friday. This initiative has been highly successful and is hugely appreciated by ATC families. Raised funds go straight back into purchasing resources for the boys at the College with the ATC P and F buying a new flexible stage that is used every week on College assembly and at a host of special events. The P and F are targeting other resources such as improved water access on Jack Bowers and some other great ideas in the coming 12 months. Thank you to everybody for contributing.
Billy’s Lemonade Stand for Muscular Dystrophy
One of ATC’s student legends, Billy Corbett of Year 9 and his Mum, Kirsteen spoke on assembly last week about Billy’s journey with muscular dystrophy and their competition amongst themselves to see who can raise the most money to support research into the condition. Kirsteen is running the Bridge to Brisbane to raise funds and the ever-smiling Billy is running a Lemonade Stand on Jack Bowers Oval this Saturday at our final round of AIC Rugby League games. Please come along and buy a lemonade to help Billy win the competition against his mum, and support Muscular Dystrophy research! CLICK HERE TO DONATE to BILLY.

We look forward to welcoming Mr Chris Charnock in Term Four as our newly appointed Assistant Dean of Learning: Junior School. Mr Charnock joins us from our brother EREA school - St Patrick’s College, Shorncliffe. We look forward to his contribution.
Ms Kristy Taylor, our Head of Library Services, has been on a period of leave this year and has recently let me know that she is going to finish her time with us at Ambrose Treacy College. Kristy has been with the College since Nudgee Junior days and has grown with us in our first decade. Her bright, kind, friendly and optimistic presence will be missed. We thank Kristy and look forward to formally farewelling her later in the year. We will recruit for this important position immediately.
Congratulations to teaching staff member, Tegan Kent on the safe arrival of her new baby girl Willow. Tegan and bub are very well.
