Farewell Year 12 and Good Luck in External Exams

This week marked a significant milestone as our Year 12 students concluded their classes ahead of next week’s external exams. The highlight of their final week was Tuesday’s ‘Face of Jesus’ assembly, where students shared heartfelt reflections on the teachers who shaped their ATC journey.

Each student who spoke presented a candle to a teacher who made a difference to them. In doing so they expressed gratitude. Gratitude for the teacher who taught them respect, showed them kindness, believed in them, inspired them, gave them time, ignited their passions, and supported them through challenges.

For most Year 12 students Monday sees the start of the three-week QCAA External Examination block. I wish every student all the very best and encourage you study hard and achieve the result you have worked towards over the past two years. We look forward to celebrating with you at the Valedictory.

World Teachers Day

Friday the 30 October is World Teachers Day (WTD). It is a chance to reflect on the difference teachers make to the lives of your son.

The best teachers, the ones we remember long after our school days, do far more than teach. They care deeply, give generously of their time, show patience and understanding, find joy in their work, and know your son as a person, not just as a learner. As Deputy Principal, I am privileged to work alongside a dedicated team and enjoy supporting them as they provide a truly liberating Catholic education in the Edmund Rice tradition for your son.

At assembly on Tuesday, we will recognise the follow teachers, school officers and administration staff who have achieved service milestones at ATC, and in Catholic education. Congratulations on behalf of the College.

Celebration of Excellence

We look forward to our Celebration of Excellence. Preparations are well underway. In Week 5 we will confirm the prize winners and invite their families. A ticketing process will accompany the invite. We look forward to what will be a wonderful evening.

Thumbs Up: to our Junior Volleyball Schools Cup Team. Best of luck! The tournament involves schools from across QLD and is being held at Coomera on the Gold Coast. I wish all the players every success and encourage them to play with spirit. Thank you to the coaching staff and families for supporting the team across the weekend.

Thumbs Down: To the rainy weather. Unfortunately, the AIC touch Football Competition has been cancelled. What a disappointment for the players and coaches who have been training hard before and after school.

Celebration of Excellence | Tuesday 17 November

Join us for the ATC Celebration of Excellence awards night on Tuesday 17 November at Riverlife, Jennifer Street Seventeen Mile Rocks.

All families are invited to attend this special event, which is filled with musical entertainment, video presentations, the Year 4 Dance production and award presentations.

Doors open at 5.30pm and proceedings begin at 5.45pm. Free parking is available onsite. Students are to wear their full Formal Uniform including their suit coat.

As our Year 12 students count down their final days at ATC, they took the opportunity to thank the staff who have made a lasting difference in their lives, Students shared heartfelt tributes to teachers and staff members who have supported, encouraged and inspired them throughout their time at the College, highlighting the relationships that make the ATC community so special.

Thank you to all our staff for the care, dedication and belief you show our young men every day. Students dressed as their favourite characters today as part of the Year 12 countdown celebrations.

School Locker – New Store Location and Campus Store Closure

Earlier this year, ATC opened a temporary on-campus uniform store while School Locker worked to secure a new retail location.

We are pleased to advise that School Locker has now opened its new store at 17 Boniface Street, Archerfield.

To support families during this transition, the on-campus uniform store will remain open for the remainder of the 2026 school year. However, the ATC store will permanently close on the last day of Term 4, 2026, and will not reopen in 2027.

From this date, families will be able to purchase College uniforms exclusively through the School Locker Archerfield store or the School Locker online store.

We thank families for their understanding and support throughout this transition.
