Farewell Mr Ryan
On Thursday, we were delighted to host former principal Mr Chris Ryan for a belated farewell with staff. He was not substantiated in his position as Director of Mission and Identity for EREA Colleges Ltd until mid-year, hence the delay. Members of the School Advisory Council and staff enjoyed morning tea with Chris. Dr Craig Wattam thanked Chris for his service to ATC and Ms Kate Watts delivered a heartfelt address on behalf of staff. She emphasised Chris’s personability, care, support and commitment to inclusivity in education. A humble man who doesn’t seek fanfare, Chris spent the morning chatting to boys in the yard and visiting classrooms and staffrooms for friendly catch-ups. We thank Chris for leading the college and wish him well. He will always be welcome at ATC and an important part of its establishment.
P&F AGM | Tuesday 15 September
The P and F are holding their AGM at 6:30pm on Tuesday 15 September in Mt Sion library. All welcome. Thank you to P and F members Ms Sasha Tucker and Ms Mel Kuflik for coordinating yet another successful 2nd hand uniform sale. Many new families took advantage of your generous donations whilst attending the Orientation Day for 2027 new students last Friday. They raised over $12,000, with all proceed going straight back into P and F sponsored initiatives which directly benefit students. Donations can be dropped off at reception.
School finishes at 3pm on Friday 18 September. All students are required to attend school up to and including Friday. A fun part of the last day is the Lip Sync Battle. House groups have been practising their singing and dancing routines ahead of the big performance. It is always a joy filled experience. Year 4 will also be excited as they are holding their Charity Fayre.

Walter Taylor Bridge Weekend Closures
From 9pm Saturday 12 September, the Walter Taylor Bridge at Indooroopilly and Chelmer will close to carry out the next stage of essential node renewal works. The bridge closures will take place overnight and are expected to remain in place until 5am Sunday 13 September. The bridge will be closed to all vehicles during this time. Please plan an alternative route and allow for extra travel time.

National Parent Survey
The Catholic School Parents Australia (CSPA) 2026 Parent Survey on Student Wellbeing and Learning is interested in the perspectives of parents/carers of one or more children who attend a Catholic School in Australia.

ATC OLD SCHOLARS
ATC Old Scholars are now on Instagram! Follow along to stay connected with fellow alumni, celebrate achievements, revisit College memories and keep up with upcoming Old Scholars events.
Old Scholars Sport Day
The 1sts clash with our Old Scholars is always a highlight on the basketball and football calendar, with former players returning to the College to test themselves against the next generation of ATC talent.
The basketball match provided valuable preparation for the 1st V ahead of their upcoming CBSQ Tournament, with the boys securing an entertaining 76-66 victory in a highly competitive contest. Meanwhile, the Old Scholars XI turned back the clock, claiming a 5-1 win over the 1st XI in a match filled with quality football, great camaraderie and plenty of enjoyment.
It was fantastic to see our community come together once again, with our Old Scholars playing an important role in supporting, challenging and inspiring our current players.
FAITH AND MISSION
Service Hours Reminder – Term 3 Deadline
As we move through Term 3, this is a reminder to all students and families that the deadline for logging Service Hours is Friday, 18 September (the final day of Term 3).
We encourage all students to ensure they have completed and logged the required number of service hours for their year level before the deadline.
For those who have already met the minimum requirement, we encourage you to continue serving your community and go above and beyond. Students who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to service will be recognised later this year through our Gold, Silver, and Bronze Service Awards.
Service is an important part of the Ambrose Treacy College experience, allowing students to make a meaningful contribution to others while developing compassion, leadership, and a spirit of generosity.
Please don't leave your service hours until the last minute, log your hours before Friday, 18 September and continue making a positive difference in our community.

ATC Community Mass
Our ATC families are warmly invited to join us for our fortnightly ATC Community Mass in The Chapel of St Joseph here on campus.
Mass will be celebrated by Fr Ray Sanchez from The Fort Passionist Community, Oxley, and will begin at 8:00am, concluding at approximately 8:25am.
As a Catholic school community, we value opportunities to gather in prayer, celebrate our faith, and strengthen the connections that unite us. We are delighted to extend this invitation to parents, carers, grandparents, and other family members who may wish to join us.
Family members attending Mass are asked to sign in at Front Reception upon arrival. Our staff will then be happy to direct you to the Chapel.
Whether you are able to attend regularly or from time to time, your presence will be greatly appreciated as we come together in faith and community.

Term 3 Tennis has been a hit, with great enthusiasm and participation from our players each week. We wish all our boys the very best for the final round tomorrow.

The Secondhand Uniform Stall is always on the lookout for more good quality ATC items. Every donation supports this fantastic P&F initiative, with all proceeds going straight back to the school.
