Coming Up Term 3 Week 8

Book Week

What a wonderful week of stories, reading, creativity and celebration across ATC! Book Week gave our students the opportunity to step away from the everyday and be reminded of just how powerful stories can be. From our Junior School Book Fair and much-loved Dress-Up Parade to our special Parents and Sons Twilight Evening and an incredible line-up of visiting Australian authors each day, there was a real sense of excitement around books and reading throughout the College. There is something incredibly powerful about meeting the person behind a book and hearing them speak about their own journey as a reader and writer.

At the heart of Book Week is a message we hope continues long after the celebrations finish: read whenever you can, share stories wherever you are, and never underestimate the power of your own ideas and imagination. Every book we pick up gives us the chance to learn something, travel somewhere new, understand another person’s experience or simply enjoy a great story. At ATC, we are committed to fostering a strong culture of literacy, reading and learning, and Book Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate that commitment together. Thank you to our students, staff, families and visiting authors who helped make Book Week such a memorable celebration. We hope the experiences of this week have inspired many of our boys to pick up another book, tell another story and keep reading.

Exams

Mock exams for Year 12 commence on Monday 31 August and conclude on Friday 11 September. Year 11 Exams commence Wednesday 9 September and conclude on 17 September. Classes do not run for senior students for the duration of their respective exam blocks. All other year groups attend school as normal. Students are advised to check their individual schedules via Student Café.

Ministerial Pupil Free Day Friday 4 September

There are no classes next Friday. Staff will welcome students commencing in Years 4 to 7 for 2027. Thank you to the Senior Student leaders and staff leading the Orientation Day. It will be a good opportunity to meet and build connection ahead of the new school year.

From 12pm to 2pm the P&F Second Hand Uniform Pop-up Shop will also open on Brothers Oval. The families of new students can grab a bargain when they pick their son up. Donations are always welcome and can be dropped at Reception during school hours. Current families are also welcome to take advantage of the shop. Thank you to Mrs Kuflik, Mrs Tucker and the volunteers who do a mountain of work organising the stall. Over the past couple of years, it has raised approximately $70,000 and contributed to NJ Hall refurbishments, upgrades to Bowers Oval and funding the SFXC assembly stage. Thank you.

FAITH AND MISSION

Service Hours Reminder – Term 3 Deadline

As we move through Term 3, this is a reminder to all students and families that the deadline for logging Service Hours is Friday, 18 September (the final day of Term 3).

We encourage all students to ensure they have completed and logged the required number of service hours for their year level before the deadline.

For those who have already met the minimum requirement, we encourage you to continue serving your community and go above and beyond. Students who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to service will be recognised later this year through our Gold, Silver, and Bronze Service Awards.

Service is an important part of the Ambrose Treacy College experience, allowing students to make a meaningful contribution to others while developing compassion, leadership, and a spirit of generosity.

Please don't leave your service hours until the last minute, log your hours before Friday, 18 September and continue making a positive difference in our community.

Further details are available on the App.

ATC Community Mass

Our ATC families are warmly invited to join us for our fortnightly ATC Community Mass in The Chapel of St Joseph here on campus.

Mass will be celebrated by Fr Ray Sanchez from The Fort Passionist Community, Oxley, and will begin at 8:00am, concluding at approximately 8:25am.

As a Catholic school community, we value opportunities to gather in prayer, celebrate our faith, and strengthen the connections that unite us. We are delighted to extend this invitation to parents, carers, grandparents, and other family members who may wish to join us.

Family members attending Mass are asked to sign in at Front Reception upon arrival. Our staff will then be happy to direct you to the Chapel.

Whether you are able to attend regularly or from time to time, your presence will be greatly appreciated as we come together in faith and community.
