Ambrose Treacy College (ATC) is a leading Catholic Years 4 – 12 boys school located in Indooroopilly with a cohort of 1,300 students. The Principal invites applications from experienced and passionate Leading Hands, Horticulturalists, Greenskeepers and Groundspersons for the following position:

Leading Hand - Grounds

Commencing as soon as possible

We seek an experienced and passionate team member to:

  • Oversee the day-to-day care and presentation of the campus grounds and sports fields.
  • Lead a grounds team with daily schedules and workflows to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to maintain presentation, safety, and quality standards.
  • Carry out hands-on grounds works such as mowing, edging, weeding, pruning, planting, mulching, watering and fertilising.
  • Operate and supervise the use of modern equipment including mowers, brush cutters, and blowers.
  • Monitor plant, turf, and soil health and apply treatments as required.
  • Maintain, program, and fault-find irrigation systems across the campus.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and raise proactive solutions for the campus grounds.
  • Ensure WHS procedures are followed and promote a safe working environment at all times.
  • Train, support, and mentor team members.
  • Assist with toolbox meetings, site documentation including repairs schedule, and SWMS.

Qualifications and Licences:

  • Have a current Qld Blue Card (Working with Children) or the eligibility to apply.
  • Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks and Gardens (preferred).
  • Driver's licence (Manual or Automatic).
