Junior School Choir performing at the Winter Concert

We would like to congratulate our Instrumental Musicians and Choristers on a great term and on the hard work you have all done to fit everything in and still make it to lessons and practise at home. Term 3 will be action packed with QCMF and our first ever Formal Concert so stay tuned (literally) and keep up the good work.

This week’s assembly on Friday 10 June will have Guitar Ensemble performing on Assembly – please be at school by 8 am on Friday to set up and run through your pieces. Normal Friday uniform is suitable. This will be the last assembly for Term 2. Please email Mr Bolt at if you are unable to attend.

Important information:
STOP PRESS: The tickets for the Sydney Opera house performance are now on sale through the Opera House website Individual tickets are $33 each (all categories are the same price) and there is an $8.50 transaction fee. The ticket type is general admission – which means there is not allocated seating. We will meet half an hour before the concert (which begins at 7 pm) and enter as a group hopefully!

Opera House Bar : Drinks and Canapes from 4.45pm on Wed 6 July at the Lower Opera House Concourse – inclusive of drinks and nibbles. $40 per adult and $15 for children. We can enjoy the sunset and then be ready to pop up to the steps for photos with the band and return to have a drink before the concert begins at 7 pm.

Taronga Zoo day trip : Thursday 7 July 2016 from 9 am Adult group ticket price of $36.80 and child $18.40. We will be at the Zoo this day and would love you to join us or to just be there for the day and utilise the discount rates.

Winter Music Concert Middle School_ Tuesday June 14 – NJC Hall
Join the Senior Flute and Clarinet Ensembles; Percussion Ensemble; Big Band; Symphonic Winds; ATC Touring Ensemble; Guitar Ensemble; Middle School Singers; Middle School Handbell Ensemble who will be performing on Tuesday 14 June for one big night of entertainment.

The concert begins at 6.10pm with the smaller ensembles performing during the drinks and preparation time. The main act will begin at 6.30 pm. All students need to be at school by 5.45pm at the latest. Performance Uniform is required with suit coat. If you are unable to attend the concert please email Mrs Scalia as soon as possible.

Brisbane Boys College, Toowong 12 June 3 pm
Performance of Carmen Fantasy for solo Trumpet and orchestra and featuring Bob Schultz
This concert is recommended by Mr Darren Skaar for all trumpet students to attend.

Brigidine Musical
This year Brigidine College, with assistance from Marist College Ashgrove and Ambrose Treacy College will be producing ‘Bring It On’ The Musical. The production will be staged in the Schonell Theatre at the University of Queensland on Friday 15 July at 7pm and Saturday 16 July at 2:00pm and 6.30pm.
Bring It On The Musical is an explosive musical comedy based on the hit film of the same name. It is a theatre production that truly dazzles with an incredible spectacle of high-energy, witty dialogue, zingily clever songs and inventive visuals. Tickets are $26 for Adults, $16 for students. Cultural Support Group Volunteer roster

Please click on the Volunteer Local link to help out at the June 14 concert – We would LOVE your help with the bbq; bar; raffle and tidy up if you can spare a half an hour on the night.

BBQ will be in operation from 5 pm and Bar will be open also. Drinks are $5 and $2 and sausages in bread are $2. All students who are performing will be entitled to ONE free Sausage in Bread.

Raffle:Please support our fabulous raffle. Funds raised by the Cultural Support Group will go towards the Sydney Tour in July. Prizes include Overnight accommodation; full breakfast and valet parking at the Pullman hotel King George Square; Blue Room Cinebar Movie tickets; Simons’ Gourmet Gallery Vouchers; Champagne and Chocolates. Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10
