Volleyball - the Growth Sport

Following on from a fantastic Volleyball season, we are excited to offer our Volleyball players a great opportunity to represent Ambrose Treacy College in this key growth sport. The 2018 Australian Volleyball Schools Cup being held in Melbourne, is not only the largest secondary school sporting event in Australia, but the largest in the Southern Hemisphere! In 2017, the Australian Volleyball Schools Cup saw 2200 matches played by 534 teams with over 6000 students participating across four venues in Melbourne.

This is truly one of our most exciting sporting tour opportunities and we strongly encourage the boys to get involved.

The tour will be held in Melbourne from Sunday 9 December to Saturday 15 December. We hope to enter a Year 7, Year 9 and Year 11 team with this tour being key for the development of our boys leading into the 2019 season. We will be fielding ATC’s first ever First VI Volleyball team in 2019 and this tour will act as a key part of the preparations and preseason for members of this team.

All boys who are interested in volleyball are invited to register and trial for the tour with training starting in Term 4. Boys will be staying in self-contained accommodation in Southbank and will be organising meal plans based on their weekly grocery budget. The tour will also include the Australian Volleyball League final which showcases Australia’s best volleyball talent. Further details on the tour along with the registration link can be found on the College App. Registrations close on Friday 16 March in order to get flights and accommodation booked.

I am happy to answer any questions so please don’t hesitate to contact me.
