To be or not to be?

“Everybody, I have an announcement to make” “I feel the need, I feel the need” “To be or not to be, that is the question” but if “you can’t handle the truth” all I can ask is that we go “for one last ride” before you admit that “frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn”.

We can all quote them, we may even be able to do impressions of characters and public figures. But who can dive into the physique of a human and represent them with authenticity and believability in front of audience or camera? The young men of Ambrose Actors Studio are doing just that.

With the demand for some acting experience and technique work, the Actors Studio was born in Term 2. With 18 men on our books, sessions have seen participants engage in drama games, character development and role play. As the excitement and skills build, Stanislavski and Chubbuck’s realism techniques direct our young men towards naturalistic acting. Currently meeting second break on a Friday, the demand for more time is driving the ensemble to now meet on a Thursday morning from 7:30am. Why not come along and see if this club is for you.

As well as having a great time, building confidence and new friendships, the actors are developing their screen acting with the hope of making their own shorts. So please, watch this space – “I’ll be back!”
