The Partnership With Families

At a College like ATC our students are constantly kept busy with numerous cultural, academic and sporting commitments on offer. The communication of this information from the College to home is vital and is discussed at our Parent Information Evenings.

Parent Information Evenings

It was wonderful to see so many families attend the Middle School Parent Information evening last night and I am sure a large crowd will be in attendance tonight for the Junior School evening. At ATC we strongly value the partnership with families. We believe parents are the primary educator of their son, and our role is to work with parents to achieve the very best for the boys. I encourage all families to maintain open and constant communication with the teachers. A PowerPoint presentation occurred at each evening and these will be loaded onto seqta (documents) for referral. All new parents have received an email today with instructions on how to log onto the Parent Lounge. Please email the helpdesk if you require further assistance.

Japan Cultural Tour Info Evening

This information evening, to be held in the hall on 10 February and 6.30pm, is compulsory for Year 6 and 9 parents who would like their son to attend the tour in June/July holidays. We will discuss eligibility, expectations, itinerary etc, and answer any questions you may have. This has traditionally been a popular event on the school calendar with the tour operating since 2000. I look forward to seeing you there.

Opening Mass

The Opening Mass will be held on Friday 12 February at the Cathedral of St Stephen. The plan for the day will be normal arrival followed by an extended Homeroom before departing on the buses to the city. After Mass boys will be transported back to ATC for lunch. The tuckshop will be open for breakfast and lunch (at 12.00 noon).

After lunch the students will be back in class for the last two lessons of the day. Please ensure your son has the necessary equipment for these lessons.
Junior School boys will not be having Friday Activities but instead will have their normal class. Indoor cricket boys are to bring their gear for their afterschool games.
All Students except ones performing at the Mass are to wear the Day Uniform with tie. No Blazer is required.

Music students are to wear their performance shirts. More details will be sent separately to all music students who are performing at the Cathedral.
