The Building Blocks of Compassion

As the end of Week 3 draws near, it is timely to acknowledge the enormous number of service hours that are being logged by students across both the Junior and Middle schools. Our Service Program aims to build compassionate relationships that give back. Here is a snapshot of some service action this week:

Jacob Year 7 was busy during the Term 1 school holidays fundraising for Beyond Blue. Donations to Beyond Blue help to improve the lives of people who suffer from depression, anxiety or suicide. By holding a cupcake stand on our street, raising awareness by speaking about Beyond Blue to family and friends and throwing a ‘big blue bash’, Jacob has been able to raise $468 for the cause.

Alexander in Year 8 helped out with the Indooroopilly scout group revegetation project. He has also been busy lending a hand at the Rocklea markets, buying vegetables for the Curtis family who use them at the Blind Eye Ministry and for Cafe DelAmore which serves meals and the proceeds of which go to charity.

A large group of students represented the College at various ANZAC Day memorial services around the western suburbs including Brookfield and Indooroopilly.

Remember to log your service hours and have your story shared on Facebook by emailing
