Our stewards of the earth were keen to get their hands dirty when Environmental Club met for the first time this year. Students from Year 4 to 11 converged on the Gully, and with the help of Mrs Jones and former student Alex ‘The Lizard King’ Davies they continued the regeneration of our beautiful Gully precinct. Boys spent the afternoon busily pulling up weeds and preparing a patch of land for planting of native trees and plants this term.
This area of our College provides students with a great opportunity to accrue Service hours, whilst also learning about local flora and fauna. With Alex’s expertise and knowledge boys are given an insight into ways to care for and manage a delicate ecosystem.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land our school is on. We are inspired and nurtured by their wisdom, spirituality and experience.
