As a new school, we are blessed with state-of-the-art facilities and bright, clean new classrooms, yet it is the friendly, relaxed and courteous manner of our boys that really speaks volumes to our visitors. Without exception, every person I have ever interviewed at the College comments positively on our boys. What I believe is really special about this, is that we conduct our interviews during school time, with normal school life continuing around us. There is nothing staged about our interview process. As we walk through the College, new families see our boys and staff going about their work and play, being their natural selves in an environment that lends itself to the growth and development of our boys.
As we move through classrooms and corridors, music tutor rooms, libraries, specialist areas and administration areas, the great relationship that exists between staff and students is on display for all to see. The key to the success of our college is in the relationships that exist between all members of our community and it is always wonderful to see this through the eyes of our visitors.
ATC Interhouse Cross Country
Last Friday saw the postponed Cross Country go ahead in perfect conditions. With our 5th different course in 5 years due to our ongoing construction, there is always a tough combination of grass, dirt, concrete, rises, falls, twists and turns for this event. As ever the boys of ATC rose to the challenge with many outstanding individual efforts on the day. Not only were our frontrunners pushing themselves to the limits, so too were those who might not have placed in the top 10, yet put in a great personal best effort to contribute to the house total. There can only ever be one winner of these events however, and for the first competition under the new house structure, Ulster house proved too strong on the day, winning by some 200+ points.
Congratulations also to the following age champions on the day:
This Saturday the ATC Cross Country Squad will compete at the QLD All Schools Cross Country at Kedron SHS and we are looking forward to a great final hit out in the lead up to the QCIS Cross Country Championships on Tuesday 16 May.
