What a great start to the year for Co-curricular Activities Department! This week boys had the opportunity to participate in a plethora of sport, music and club activities. If your son is still looking for an interest this term, please don’t hesitate to email either the SPORT, MUSIC or AFTERSCHOOL CLUBS departments. There is something for every boy at ATC.
Whole School Mass changes to our Co-curricular timetables
- Tuesday 7 February – no Co-curricular music rehearsals or lessons before school or during the day.
- Cricket, Water Polo, Trail Running, Gym and Volleyball ON as scheduled
We played a full round of cricket last weekend and we won 22 of the 24 matches played! We also had our first ever full round of volleyball which saw boys from Year 7 to 10 playing against a variety of schools – many of them for the very first time! IN volleyball we won 5 from 8 matches and the boys and coaches are looking forward to a great season ahead. Our Water Polo teams also had great matches and whilst we lost one and drew one game, the growth in the teams over the season is obvious. With only four games to go we are hopeful that our U14 boys will have a shot at the finals.
Br Miller Shield Swimming
This Friday 3 February, our swimmers travel to Nudgee College to compete in the Br Miller Shield Swimming Competition against Gregory Terrace, Nudgee College and Brisbane State High School. Nominations are still open for this event and we would love to see as many swimmers as possible participate in this, even if they are not training regularly. Please follow the link to register your son via the Nomination Form
“AFL Season Launch and Sign On

Best of luck to all of our boys for a great start to the official Cricket and Volleyball season this weekend!
To add to the busy flavour in the Instrumental area, all Year 4’s and some curious Year 5’s had the opportunity to try out any of our instruments. It has been a noisy and exciting few days in the Music Department and boys have figured out what end of an oboe makes the noise as well as how much ‘puff’ it takes to blow into a trumpet! Letters of offer for band members will be sent home by the end of school on Monday.
Due to the Whole School Mass Tuesday7 February there will be NO Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble or Senior Choir rehearsals on this day. There are no music lessons on this day. The Co-curricular Instrumental Music Parent Information Evening – This is for parents of NEW instrumental students and will be held in the Chapel 6.30 pm
