Performing Arts at ATC is a huge part of our day to day school life – and – for 4 days last week it became the beginning and end of our day to day lives! We are very very proud of our ATC Gentlemen and their performances; attitude; behaviour and dedication over the festival of the Qld Catholic Colleges Music Festival. We sang; we blew; we tapped and banged; we tooted and we rang and we watched; listened and supported each other from Thursday afternoon to Saturday night – What an extravaganza. Many many thanks to the parents and families who drove to and from Villanova College at Coorparoo and St. James’ school and church to be part of this experience. (Especially for their patience in trying to find parking spots also). We can safely say that we have done ATC and ourselves proud with the cache of certificates and comments and that we look forward to building on what we have done for our next big event.
Elders’ Day, (formerly known as Grandparents Day) will be held on Monday 22 August 9am – 10.30am. Rehearsals for our performance will be on Friday 19 August 1.30pm – 3pm.

On Saturday the 27 August we will be staging our first ever ATC Formal Music Evening at St Laurence’s College ERPAC. This exciting evening of music will feature most of our ATC Choirs and Ensembles in a world class venue and is an opportunity for our musicians to perform in a formal setting in front of a large audience. The concert commences at 6.30pm with pre-concert entertainment from 6.00pm in the foyer.
Afternoon rehearsals/sound checks will be held at the venue following the proposed schedule below. Students (except for Junior Choir and Junior Concert Band – who will be in uniform on arrival) will arrive in free dress but bring their full formal performance uniform to change into along with all necessary instruments and music. They will stay on from their scheduled arrival/rehearsal time and will be provided with a simple BBQ dinner prior to the concert commencing.
(All information has now been emailed home to families regarding the concert – if you are unable to attend, please inform Mrs Scalia as soon as possible)
We will require some parent volunteers for cooking the BBQ at St Laurence’s College on the day. Year 4 families will receive an e-mail next week to sign up for a spot on the cooking roster from 4.30pm – 6.30pm.
