Open Classrooms and Orientation for New Students

The first day of lessons for 2020 is Wednesday 29 January. Open Classrooms afternoon is Tuesday 28 January.

On Tuesday 28 January your son’s homeroom teacher will be working in the classroom from 1:00pm to 2:30pm. We extend an invitation to you and your son to come to the College to meet informally with his teacher. You are encouraged to bring your son’s school books to the classroom.

What to wear

Students are NOT required to wear school uniform on Tuesday afternoon.

Laptop Collection

Junior School students will be allocated a laptop for use in the classroom and these will not be taken home. Year 7 students will be given their laptops on Wednesday and Thursday of Week 1 as part of their Orientation program. It is important that Years 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 students collect their laptop on Open Classrooms Afternoon Tuesday 28 January, to ensure it can be fully charged overnight for the commencement of classes on Wednesday 29 January.

Orientation New Students Only in Years 8-12

New students commencing in Years 8-12 are invited to an orientation session on Tuesday 28 January from 11am-1pm. Students can be dropped off and collected from College Reception. Alternatively, parents are welcome to attend the orientation sessions with their sons. Students are NOT required to wear school uniform on this day. Orientation will include the following activities:
• Issue of laptop and tutorial on how to access timetables, classes, teachers, assignments.
• Meet their Head of House who will allocate lockers and give a tour which will conclude at their homeroom
• Meet their Homeroom Teacher.

Textbook Collection

Students can make their way to Westcourt iCentre in the Middle School Precinct between 9.30am and 3pm to collect their textbooks on Tuesday 28 January and between 8.30am and 6pm on Wednesday 29 January.

Locker Padlocks

Continuing students must bring their locker padlock to Open Classrooms on Tuesday 28 January. Continuing students who have lost their padlocks can purchase replacements via Flexischools website. Log in and go to _IT Services, click on Replacement Locker Lock . Cost is $25. Flexischools is the preferred method of payment, however payment can also be made by EFTPOS at Student Reception. Once ordered, students will be able to collect their replacement lock from Student Reception. Please note students are only permitted to bring ATC issued locks. New students will be issued with their locker padlock in Week 1.
