Looking to Term 2 Sport

Winter is without a doubt one of the busiest times of year at the College as the boys put away the swimmers, volleyballs and cricket bats and throw on the boots for winter!

Football—Rugby, AFL & Soccer

By the end of this week parents of boys involved in AFL, Rugby and Football will have received information regarding the season ahead. Winter is without doubt one of the busiest times of year at the College as the boys put away the swimmers, volleyballs and cricket bats and throw on the boots for winter!
As boys have signed on for the different codes it has been necessary to make adjustments to the proposed plan for each program. Whilst we understand that this may have caused some reshuffling of timetables at home, the changes have been necessary to ensure the best possible football experience for our boys. Our thanks for your patience during this time.

QCIS Swimming

This Friday 4 March ATC will swim at the Queensland Combined Independent School swimming championships. This is the very first event for the QCIS association and a great moment in our College history. I would like to wish all of our swimmers the very best of luck for a great championships. Congratulations to Mr Jones and Mrs Kearney for the preparation of the our boys going into this event.

Music and Sport

At ATC we believe strongly in a holistic education and in particular boys having the opportunity to pursue a variety of different activities at our College. We endeavour to timetable rehearsals, training and competition to allow boys to engage across different areas. Timetabling of co-curricular activities at all schools is a complicated exercise with a variety if different factors needing to be considered.

_These include:
Training / rehearsal timeslots
Staff / coach / tutor availability
Transport logistics
Rehearsal space
Green space / training space
Variation with activities_

You will notice on our timetable that in sport we offer skill sessions as well as team sessions. This is mostly to cater for our many talented musicians and/or students playing multiple sports. Team sessions or band rehearsals are considered compulsory as coaches/tutors need to have all boys in attendance to develop the boys together as a group. In sport, skills sessions are not compulsory but are strongly encouraged.
