Konan Elementary School Visit

An annual event on the ATC calendar, the visit by students from our sister school in Japan is a cultural highlight. It provides an opportunity for families to welcome children from another country and culture and gives our boys an insight into life as a kid in Japan.

Students Arrive from Kobe

On Saturday morning we welcomed 20 excited students from Konan Elementary School, Japan. They were greeted by our ATC homestay families, where the students would be entertained for the weekend and share in our Australian way of life.

Assembly performance

On Monday, as a school community, we welcomed the students along with their teachers, to a school assembly. The students sang songs and performed a recorder recital for our Junior School audience. Our Ambrose Treacy students entertained the Konan students with a performance from the Taiko Drums. It is a wonderful opportunity for our Ambrose Treacy gentlemen to spend some time with our Japanese friends from our sister school.

Many thanks to our homestay families who generously opened their homes to host the students over the last few days. They had a chance to form a friendship they would normally not have. It was great to hear so many positive comments, with our boys being wonderful ATC gentlemen, generous hosts and proud Australian ambassadors.

Japan Cultural Tour 2016

We are now looking forward to our reciprocal tour to Japan in June, where some of our ATC students will have the opportunity to tour the Kansai region visiting Kobe, Osaka and Nara. They will spend some time revisiting the Konan students and their families whilst in Kobe.
