Round 2
The next round is on Tuesday 26 April. The topic is “Society has an unhealthy obsession with celebrities”. The schedule is Green v Blue and then Red v Gold (1st team affirmative). Different students can participate if they see me to nominate themselves into their House team. Each House (colour) Debate Team includes one member from Year 4, 5, or 6, and one member from Year 7 and one member from Year 8 or 9.
QDU
In the QDU competition the Year 8 team has their Round 2 debate next week, again at St Aidan’s on 27 April at 7pm vs St Peter’s Lutheran College. Their topic is the famous “That Australia should become a republic” and ATC is on the negative side.
Training
We encourage all debaters to be reliable for their training days and welcome parents and relatives to any these debates. The College has nominated two Year 7 teams and two Year 6 teams for the QDU round robin competition starting at the end of Term 2. These debates will be shared out amongst those boys who have submitted their names or who are competing in the House debates.
