We pray for all those in the world, our nation, our community, and families who are struggling this Christmas, whether it be through the loss of a loved one, the challenges of the economy, the fear of the unknown or their mental, emotional, or physical health. We pray for faith, hope and healing. Thank you to the wonderful community of Ambrose Treacy College for your care of one another, trust in our College and love for your son.
I thank our Staff – both teaching and non-teaching, for their dedicated efforts this year. We are very fortunate to have a staff of such committed people in our community. 2022 has been an extraordinary year and I wish our staff, on your behalf, a joyous and restful Christmas break. Thank you to the Parents and Friends of Ambrose Treacy College for your generous contributions so our staff can enjoy a lovely Christmas lunch together on Thursday 1 December.
Celebration of Excellence and Valedictory
Thank you to all of our families who attended one or both of these significant events last week. Both were joyous demonstrations of our culture and wonderful displays of our student and staff gifts and how these are supported by parents and caregivers.
Thank you to everyone who made these events possible in facilitation and for your presence. We were delighted with these events and grateful for your support.
As we conclude the year, I wish the following staff who have or are finishing their time at Ambrose Treacy College or taking leave for 2022 the very best and thank them for their wonderful contributions to our story:
Sandy Bickerton, Melissa Clifton, Darren Cullen, Samantha Davids, Lisa Holohan, Patrick Howell, Gareth Kolkenbeck-Ruh, Sharon Mathieson, Erin Moffat, Gillian Nel, Julia Palaszczuk, Ed Raben, Paul Towner, Harry Walker and Monica Willoughby.
I wish to acknowledge and thank in a special way, Julia Palaszczuk, Monica Willoughby, Erin Moffat and Patrick Howell who were all members of the inaugural Ambrose Treacy College staff in 2015. Each has made a wonderful contribution to our culture and community, and I thank them and wish them every success and continued health and happiness.
We also wish Paul Reeves and Tom Woodley all the very best as they are taking a year’s leave and warmly wish Kate Tyson the very best as she is expecting her second baby and is taking maternity leave. We look forward hearing of Kate’s new arrival.
In 2023, we welcome the following staff members to the College:
While I am on leave in Term One, David Gardiner will act as College Principal, Conor Finn will act as Deputy Principal and Tim Walker will act as Dean of Formation. We are currently organising who will act as Head of Health and Physical Education. Later in Term One, Matt Warr is taking some long service leave and Andrew McCrohon will act as Dean of Faith and Mission during this time. I thank David, Conor, Tim and Andrew for accepting this extra responsibility. I wish everyone the very best for Term One and I look forward to my return in April next year.
I ask the community to please keep Zach Smith (Year 4) and this family in your thoughts and prayers following the recent passing of his grandfather. We hope that the passage of time will help heal the pain of their passing. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, may perpetual light shine upon him, may he rest in peace. Amen.
God bless and best wishes to all ATC boys and families for a safe, joyous, and happy Christmas.
