Coming Up Week 4 Term 4

I would like to add my congratulations to everyone involved with the Jazz by the River. It was an outstanding event and was due to the efforts of so many, the involvement of so many performers and the support of so many in our community. I really enjoyed the occasion and was so proud of what our community showcased.

Our next major event is our Night of Excellence on Tuesday 25 October at ERPAC at South Brisbane. It is a different celebration to the Jazz by the River but equally important in the culture we are developing at ATC. In only our second year we have produced many outstanding achievements and next Tuesday evening is an opportunity for us to reflect, acknowledge and celebrate our success as a community. Please join us at ERPAC for our final whole College community gathering for the year.

Eat Street @ Jazz by the River.

The event will be a mix of music performances, awards, entertainment and Mr Senior’s reflection on the year. It will conclude at 9.00pm and I ask that all families stay until the conclusion as a sign of respect to all award winners. The final awards will be our very special awards for the year and the recipients will only be announced prior to the presentations on the night. See yesterday’s email with full details on parking and arrival times.

Dyslexia Empowerment Week

In an effort to raise awareness for Dyslexia Empowerment Week and to stand in solidarity with the many students who identify as Dyslexic at the college, a ‘Light it Red for Dyslexia Day’ will be taking place this Friday (21st Oct); whereby students are encouraged to wear Red for the day and are to donate a gold coin, with all funds going towards resources for the boys. This is a great initiative from some of our students who want to support each other and to raise awareness about dyslexia.
