Student Council Representatives
Leadership is one of our ATC Touchstones and is an area that we continually seek to provide opportunities for the boys. The Junior and Middle Schools Student Councils are one aspect of the leadership focus. To broaden the opportunities we have a process of having different Student Council reps each semester. A process has been conducted by Homeroom teachers and the following boys have been selected to represent their homeroom for Semester 2. I congratulate these boys and wish them all the best for their role this semester.

Annual ATC Cook Off Competition
For the past 6 years, the College has offered Junior School students the chance to show off their cooking skills by entering the Annual Cook Off Competition. This competition is a highlight for staff and students and offers a platform to promote boys in the kitchen. The Cook Off lasts the duration of Term 3 and sees boys in the Junior School battle it out through heats, quarter and semi-finals to make the Grand Final and be crowned the College Master Chef. Please download the flyers via the links below for more details. You can email the coordinator Mrs Smout
Signum Fidei Breakfasts
At ATC it is important that our students not only know our College motto, but live it out. Signum Fidei means ‘Sign of Faith’ and everything Ambrose Treacy did in his life was a sign of his faith, particularly when times were hard. We constantly seek ways to affirm the boys who are doing their best and always striving to do ‘the right thing’. The Middle School (Wednesday) and Junior School (Thursday) breakfasts next week are an acknowledgment and celebration of those boys who have been a strong ‘sign of faith’ during semester one. Our College strives on the work of so many who do the simple right things on daily basis. I thank them for all they bring to ATC.
Year 7 STEM Excursion
Year 7 boys will be attending the V8 Supercars practice session at QLD Raceway, Willowbank this Friday 22 July. The purpose of this day is for them to see some of the principles of Forces and Motion in action and to have some fun. Students are required to time laps of 3 different categories of cars (Formula 4, ARC, Touring car). Boys are to wear their full PE Sports uniform including hat.
Thank you to those parents who have indicated they are willing to come and help out. Parents driving to Willowbank are to arrive at the track by 9:45am to meet the bus. We will be marking the rolls at this time so please send any students you have transported to their Science teacher. You will also be given a pass and lanyard at this time to wear for the day. For other parents assisting, the bus will leave the College at 9.00am.
Subject Selection Pathway Evenings
I invite all Year 8 and 9 families to attend the very important Subject Selection Pathway evenings next week – current Year 9 families on Wednesday and current Year 8 families on Thursday evening. The boys have begun work in Formation lessons with regards to their future pathways. These evenings are aimed to inform families of the offerings the boys will have in 2017 and beyond, plus explaining the process every family will need to follow with the subject selection process.
