The ATC AFL teams compete in the AFL Schools of Excellence program across Junior, Middle and Senior competitions. It is a credit to the standard of our boys and our coaches that ATC has been invited to be a part of this top level AFL competition. Tomorrow I am hoping to see a sea of blue white and green supporting the First VI Volleyballers when they verse Sheldon College in the St Francis Xavier Centre at 11am.

Camp Week update
Week 6 of the ATC calendar is highlighted by year level camps. Year 6 are the only cohort with a ‘normal’ week, with their camp transferred to Term 2. The challenge of being away on camp can be exciting and challenging. I encourage families to have conversations with their sons over the weekend to assure them the teachers will support them while they are away on camp. Normal school rules and expectations apply on camp, and so does the level of care and support provided by the staff.
Camp Buses Departure
Both the internal drop off zones will be allocated to buses on Monday morning for camp departures. From Monday to Wednesday, there will be no access to either drop off zone between 7.30am and 9.30am. Please use either of the College carparks for drop off on these days. Students have been informed of the departure meeting point for the respective year level/camp group.
Camp Buses Return
From Tuesday to Friday, the internal pick up zones will be closed to traffic between 2.30pm and 4.30pm to allow for campers to disembark from buses safely. Please use the College carparks when waiting for your son to arrive back from camp. The Senior Roundabout will be closed off to cars on Friday afternoon. I ask for patience with drop off and pick up during next week, and please follow directions from ATC Staff who will be directing traffic on campus. Please inform your son of alternative plans for pick up during Camp Week.
The School Bus services with Brisbane Bus Lines and Southern Cross will be operating as normal during Camp Week Monday 1 March to Friday 5 March. Please be aware that if your son’s camp bus arrives back to school after the normal school bus departure time, you will need to have alternate pick up arrangements in place. Parents are reminded to download the TransportMe app to their smart device and follow your sons’ bus whilst enroute. When you open the App you will see Bus numbers listed if they are travelling on the road at that point in time. You can follow the bus progress on the live maps.
All medication, in its original packaging with pharmacy label, should be placed in a clearly labelled ziplock bag with the student’s name, class and dosage details. If feasible, it would be great if this medicine could be handed in on the Friday before the camp (February, 26th). If this is not possible, then medicine should be brought on the morning of the camp.
Please see the College App and your emails to download the Year Level Camp Equipment lists and Year Level Camp letters for full details of departure times and return bus times and what items are required on camp (and items that are NOT allowed on camp) All Camp Letters are on the College App under your son’s year level. Year 9 boys in Blue, Green and White groups need to bring their great in a soft duffle bag rather than a hard suitcase.
Both Paddy’s Place and Bakehouse will be open every day for morning tea and lunch during Camp week; however, as many students will be away, there will be a reduced menu for the week. Breakfast will not be available all week due to the cancellation of most morning sport and music activities.
Co-curricular Activities during Camp Week
Volleyball, AFL, Cricket, Football, Rugby, Cross Country and Basketball training will not take place in Camp Week. The Aquatics program will run as per normal.
The Clubs program will not operate during Camp Week, however Westcourt Library will remain under its normal operating hours.
All ensemble and choir rehearsals are cancelled in Camp Week. No official lessons will be run unless you have discussed a lesson time directly with your teacher.

The College, with the support of the ATC P&F invite you to the 2021 Welcome Event, Kick off Cocktails on Saturday 13 March at Figs on Sylvan, Wests Rugby Club Toowong from 6.30pm to 11pm. Come along, meet up with old friends, make new friends and be part of our community. Entry Ticket is $25 includes finger food, a welcome drink, (your choice of wine, beer or a sparkling) one entry into the raffle, great music and good company! A dedicated Pacific Island Mass is being celebrated on Sunday 28 February at 11am by Fr Pio Fong at Holy Spirit Church, St Ignatius, Auchenflower and any families that are interested are invited to attend.
