Canoe Polo? Can Do!

Some very talented ATC students competed at the recent Australian Nationals and Oceania Canoe Polo competitions in April. We congratulate Jack Steel in Open Men and U/21 men, Harry Elder in U/21 Men, Cameron Booth in U/16 A and Tate Davidson, Callum Hickey, Will Reid, Angus Mulvihill and Daniel Morris who all competed in U/16 B team.

Harry Elder in action.

U/16 teams competed again Tasmania, Victoria and ACT. Our U/16 A team took the silver medal which meant they were named Australian National Champions after New Zealand won this comp. The U/16 B team gained valuable experience competing at this level and have a shot at winning next year. They managed two draws and one win, which is fantastic and exceeded expectations. We can look forward to a strong result next year.

The U/21 team competed strongly beating out the Australian teams, losing only to the New Zealand national teams, thereby being the Australian National Champions! In addition, Harry Elder and Jack Steel were selected in the U/21 Australian team to play against New Zealand U/21 teams at the Oceania competition.

Although they were unable to beat the New Zealanders they did post some great results over the three days against various other teams and we are very proud of their efforts at the very competitive international level.
