Performing at the Brisbane Jazz Club on Saturday

We had a couple of days to take a breath after the Jazz Bands spectacular performance on Saturday and the Brisbane Jazz Club before launching into the Queensland Youth Music Awards.

This week’s assembly on Friday 27 May will have the Wind Ensemble performing. Ensemble members please be at school by 8am to set up and have a quick look over the pieces. You are required to wear your normal Friday uniform.

Sydney Tour Information

Important information: Our Sydney Tour Parent Information evening is tonight – Thursday 26 May @ 6.30 pm in the Chapel. Please come along and find out all of the ins and outs to do with our Sydney tour. If you are unable to attend, please email Mrs Scalia and she will send your packet of information in the mail.
STOP PRESS: The tickets for the Sydney Opera house performance are now on sale through the Opera House website: http://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/whatson/2016_aimf.aspx
Individual tickets are $33 each (all categories are the same price) and there is an $8.50 transaction fee. The ticket type is general admission – which means there is not allocated seating. We will meet half an hour before the concert (which begins at 7 pm) and enter as a group hopefully!

Handbell Performance
The Handbell Workshop and Concert is on Saturday 28 May at Coorparoo Secondary College (12pm to 5pm).
An information letter has been sent home and you can follow this link to pay for the workshop and concert. We would love to see parents and family members at the Concert to watch some extra-amazing handbell ensembles.
Please ensure that you have paid for this workshop by the end of today so that we know who is involved.
Please wear your ATC sports shirt (with jacket if cooler weather) and jeans or long casual pants and closed in shoes.
Festival Program details:
12 noon – Registration
12.30 pm Workshop 1- all students involved
1.30 pm Break and change over – Bring own snack and water bottle
1.45 pm Workshop 2 – all students involved
2.45 pm Sausage Sizzle
3.15 pm Free time – supervised by Ms McGeever – bring handball or book to read etc.
4.00 pm Concert
4.30 – 4.45pm End of concert
Parents and friends are invited to attend the concert at 4 pm – sausage sizzle and drinks are available to purchase prior to the commencement of the concert. Adults $15 and children and concessions $10 – this is payable at the concert on the day.

Brigidine Musical
This year Brigidine College, with assistance from Marist College Ashgrove and Ambrose Treacy College will be producing ‘Bring It On’ The Musical. The production will be staged in the Schonell Theatre at the University of Queensland on Friday 15 July at 7pm and Saturday 16 July at 2:00pm and 6.30pm.
Bring It On The Musical is an explosive musical comedy based on the hit film of the same name. It is a theatre production that truly dazzles with an incredible spectacle of high-energy, witty dialogue, zingily clever songs and inventive visuals. Tickets are $26 for Adults, $16 for students. Cultural Support Group Coffee
Thanks to the mums who came along to have a cuppa this morning at Simon’s and to discuss how to help out and what to do to get our Performing Arts moving forward at ATC. WE are keen for helpers for the BBQ and BAR at our concerts on 2 June and 14 June.
Help: Winter Concert on 2 June – Sausage Sizzle and Bar operating and help is needed for both please.

Winter Music Concert – Junior School
Thursday 2 June will bring the Junior Flute, Clarinet and Saxophone Ensembles; Beginner Band; Concert Band; Wind Ensemble; Brass Ensemble; Jazz Ensemble; Junior Choir and Junior Chamber Choir;
Junior Handbell Ensemble together for one big night of entertainment. The concert begins at 6pm with the smaller ensembles performing during the drinks and preparation time. All students need to be at school by 5.45pm at the latest. Performance Uniform is required with suit coat. If you are unable to attend the concert please let Mrs Scalia know.
