Service Program Week 6

Renewal and rejuvenation of the ATC edible garden

Recognising and providing for students’ individual achievements is our Formation focus this week. Thank you to the many students who are acting justly. The vegetable garden is cared for by junior school students, with some middle school students assisting with the heavier work, such as digging out old garden beds and turning the soil.

The junior students have cleared weeds and prepared the garden beds and have recently planted lettuce, zucchini, tomatoes, etc; and have been responsible for watering the plants each morning before the start of the school day.

Special mention to Tedo Wraight, Conor Hickey, Ben Rogers and Terry Mulligan who have given up some of their time to assist with transferring herbs.

We also acknowledge the commitment of Jackson in Year 5 who gave up his time voluntarily to clean up the horse yards for Equus Terra, a service providing therapy for children with extra support needs across Brisbane.

Also achieving his service hours is Year 5 student Tasman who performed Touch Judge duties for his younger brother’s Club Rugby team on the weekend, after playing for ATC in soccer earlier in the morning. What a lovely day for sport and for helping others!

Don’t forget to take photos of any service you may undertake and send them with your story to: signumfidei@atc.qld.edu.au
