The day started at Gregory Park with some socialising over fresh Pizzas and cold drinks after what was, for most, a busy day running around with sport and family commitments. We left the park and headed to the stadium to get the chance to see the ATC Taiko Troupe perform at the Caxton Street end of Suncorp. The Taiko Troupe looked and sounded awesome and set the wonderful atmosphere for the night. They drew quite a crowd of onlookers, in fact the crowd at the game on the night was a 2016 season record.
Inside the stadium the families then enjoyed an historic and spirited game of rugby with the Reds securing their third home win for the season. The Japanese Sunwolves never gave up and either did the cheering crowd. However for many the highlight of the night was being allowed on to the ground after the match to celebrate Rod Simmonds’ 100 caps for the Reds. Due to the size of the booking the school is in with a chance to win a training session with the Reds, we will just have to wait and see if any other school or rugby club can make a bigger booking in the next two home games, fingers crossed and will keep you posted. The organiser would like to thank all the helpers who made the day a great success, especially the lads who helped out in the park.

Getting to know some of your boys’ friends’ parents/ carers helps to keep everyone connected (and in the loop with the goings on of the oldest ATC boys) – which is definitely worthwhile for both you and your boy! Don’t worry if you are new to the school or do not know anyone yet – we will make sure you are very warmly welcomed and you will certainly feel part of our Middle School community by the time you leave the event.
Drinks will be $3 and nibbles will be provided. There is the possibility to order in pizza on the evening if people are keen for some dinner. We really look forward to seeing you there and hope that lots of you can make it!

Date Claimer – ATC Trivia Night – Saturday 30 July 2016!
Now is the time to put this date into your calendar and to start prepping your ‘gun team’ for this year’s epic ATC trivia battle! This is the process that you will need to follow (to the letter):
1. Find a quiet space away from your children, work colleagues, housework, traffic, cooking, beauty treatments, tango classes, horse-riding, general servitude to the whole world – and have a few minutes of quiet solitude… (c’mon this should be dead easy…!)
2. When you are ready to ponder…think long and hard – what is “The Greatest Moment in History”?….Question – if you had to tell an alien visitor to our planet what the world’s greatest moment has been so far – what would you say? This is the theme for our fabulous upcoming trivia evening, and your table will need to dress and decorate to reflect what you consider is the world’s greatest moment so far. This could be cultural, scientific, sporting etc…the possibilities are endless! Think along the lines of invention of the wheel, electricity, the fall of the Berlin wall, Martin Luther King’s speech, Bradman on the bat, Phar Lap on the track, Rosa Parks on the bus, first man on the moon…dare I say it – the creation of ATC? :)) There will be great prizes for the best idea, decorations etc – so get those thinking caps on!!
3. Now – get on the phone – and call all of your smart, fun-to-be-around friends (or your paid ring-ins) and hook up your team of ten (note: you should set aside a few minutes for this, as you may need to have a massive argument with the other 9 people before you settle on a theme – but hey – it has to be done!).
4. As soon as the Trybooking link goes live – (this will be soon) – go on and get your tickets for $25 p.p. and get some raffle tickets as well (this event sells out fast!). There will be fabulous prizes on the night and you are guaranteed a fantastic time!
The event will be BYO food and drinks, glassware, cutlery, crockery, decorations etc.If you have any questions about the event please contact Michelle (firstname.lastname@example.org), Kylie (email@example.com) or Dana (firstname.lastname@example.org). Happy planning and we will be in touch soon!!! P.S. No, we cannot help you settle an argument about whether the invention of antibiotics is “greater” that Australia winning back the Ashes…(before you ask..).
