Coming Up Last Week of Term

Year 5 students coding robots today.

A highly productive and busy Term One is about to reach it’s conclusion. The final assessment tasks need to be completed next week and then we will ‘celebrate’ the end of term. This will be in three sections – the Interhouse Cross Country Carnival, the Lenten Fayre and the End of Term Easter Liturgy. Each of these items are significant in their own way.

They are also all important in helping form our culture and form this new community. I ask that you encourage your son to be involved to his full potential in each of the three activities next Friday. To allow him to ‘opt out’ of any of the events is not allowing him to be a full participant in this community. We look forward to the students and staff enjoying a great last day of the term.

Term 1 Interim Report Cards
The Interim Report Card for Term 1 focuses on the College Touchstones of Learning, Leadership and Service. It is primarily a pastoral report indicating how the student has demonstrated ability in Learning and Leadership criteria. Report cards will be released on SEQTA next Thursday 30 March. Parents and caregivers will be notified via the College APP. Teachers will release marks and feedback comments on SEQTA for each assessment task over the coming weeks.

Interhouse Cross Country
The ATC Interhouse Cross Country will be held on Friday 31 March. The events, distances and approximate starting times are below. Personal Electronic Devices
Ambrose Treacy College embraces emerging digital technologies and encourages its teachers and students to look for ways of using them to enhance learning. We recognise that there are times when it is genuinely appropriate and useful for students to have access to personal electronic devices including a mobile phone. But the College expects that devices are always used appropriately. The Ambrose Treacy College Personal Electronic Device Policy can be found in the Documents section of the Parent Lounge. We encourage all parents, caregivers and students to read the latest version of the policy. To have a very clear direction across the College and to prevent interruptions, distractions and any potential issues, we are asking all students to not use their phones across the campus during the school day. Middle and Senior School students may check their mobile phones in their locker at break times.

Community Directory
Each year the ATC P&F compile a Community Directory for the convenience of ATC families. If you have not done so already, please give your consent/non consent to having your family information being published in the Community Directory by Friday 24 March 2017. Please check your record is up to date and refer to the previous APP notification for further information.

App Tips
New winter sports, Music timetables for Term 2 and holiday camps have been placed on the App. You are urged to deselect activities that DO NOT PERTAIN TO YOUR SON by going to the settings cogwheel on the app face, clicking on SUBSCRIPTIONS and ticking only the activities that your son participates in. You will then avoid receiving unnecessary notices.
