A Great Term of Sport at ATC

Here we are at the end of another great term of sport at Ambrose Treacy College. After 10 weeks of training sessions, carnivals, games, races and fixtures, I would like to congratulate our boys for their determination, enthusiasm, commitment and sportsmanship across all areas of our program.

Gentlemen of Cricket

A great culmination of the term was at cricket on Saturday at The Southport School. I was doing a stint as umpire when the coach from the other side approached me for a chat. This was the second time we had played TSS during the season and he said that he and other coaches at the school had commented on the sportsmanlike, yet competitive attitudes of our boys. This type of feedback is not rare and is a reflection of the wonderful boys we have at our College and a great way to end Term 1!

Holiday Sport— Rugby, Soccer and Australian Football

29-31 March—EREA Football Tournament at ATC For three days we are hosting EREA schools from all over Australia and are looking forward to a very competitive carnival. Best of luck to our boys and coaches for a great few days of soccer. We would love to members of the ATC community come along to support! Games are played between 8.00am and 4.00pm each day with finals on Thursday 31 March.

Thursday 31 March—AFL Schools Cup Our Middle School 1st XVIII take on Iona College to enter the qualifying finals for the QLD Schools Cup. The game will be played at Carsdale St, Yeronga at 10.00am—supporters very welcome!

8-10 April—Armidale Rugby Carnival For the 5th year running we are attending the TASRC in Armidale for 2 days of rugby competition. Best of luck to all boys involved, to coaches Mr Sullivan, Mr Stewart and Mr Walker and to the large support contingent that is making their way to Armidale for what promises to be a great carnival. Travel safe and enjoy the opportunity!

As we come to the end of another term I would like to thank all the staff involved in running our sporting program at the College. Without their generosity, enthusiasm, commitment, creativity and expertise, we would not be able to run the great programs that we do. For a full list of sports in Term 2 and the training schedule please see the link below.

Enjoy a well earned break and see you in Term 2.
